Launching and inauguration of projects are normally scheduled on auspicious occasions of politicians such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Questions are raised in political circles how come the Fatorda traffic police station was inaugurated two days before MLA Vijaibab Sardesai’s birthday scheduled on June 14. Sources say Vijaibab could have very well fixed the police station inauguration on his birthday, throwing up a question whether the Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant preferred to have the inauguration two days before the birthday celebrations. Melava postponed, but BJP’s Fatorda move sends strong signal
BJP State President Damubab Naik must have left no stone unturned for the mega Fatorda BJP Karyakarta Melava scheduled on Friday before the Air India plane crash forced the postponement. Scheduled a day ahead of the birthday bash of arch political rival Vijaibab Sardesai on Saturday, sources said Damubab had taken personal interest in the Fatorda Karyakarta Melava coming as it does on the home turf of party State president. Top party leaders, including Goa Prabhari, Minister Ashish Sood and Pramodbab Sawant’s Cabinet were scheduled to attend the melava. The stage is finally set for the 55th birthday celebrations of Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai on Saturday. While the Goa Forward chief is expected to throw a big bash on his birthday, going by the arrangements at the “We for Fatorda” ground, political observers seemed anxiously awaiting for the political message going out from the venue. UGDP ideologue’s political move triggers Congress outreach
Just hazard a guess why a Congress delegation travelled all the way to Majorda during the weekend. Reason: Congress leaders are believed to have descended at the residence of political commentator Adv Radharaobab Gracias after the ideologue of the now defunct UGDP unveiled plans to call a meeting of social activists to draw up an Action Plan ahead of the 2027 Assembly election. Sources say Radharaobab’s reported announcement that he would not work for the Congress in the coming polls might have also prompted the delegation to rush to Majorda and seek clarity.
