CM’s political message at opening was loud & clear

Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant’s slogan “Modi tum aage bado, hum tumare sath hai” must have certainly pleased Prime Minister Narendra Modiji at the National Games inaugural at the Nehru stadium. There was no mention of politics nor the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the CM’s speech, but the message was loud and clear to the intended audience to rally behind the PM, the BJP’s mascot as the saffron brigade gears up for a third term for Modiji in 2024. The PM must have been further pleased when CM chanted Bharat Mata ki jai and Vande Mataram. Any takers?

Vijai’s presence at Games baffles all, becomes a talking point

Goa Forward chief, MLA Vijaibab Sardesai’s presence at the Nehru stadium on the occasion of the National Games soon became the talking point inside the stadium and outside. The Fatorda MLA insists he made it for the inaugural function since Prime Minister Narendrabai Modi was scheduled to grace the occasion and after the roads in his constituency were all hot mixed. Observers, however, are on the job to find out the actual reasons behind Vijaibab’s presence and whether there’s something more than meets the eye. Wait and watch.

It’s sports, not politics: Cong leaders at Games

Has the Congress leadership anything to say over the presence of party South Goa MP Francisbab Sardinha for the National Games inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendrabai Modi at the Nehru stadium? Well, if sources are to be believed, the party leadership was not in favour of party MLAs and the MP attending the inaugural. With Opposition leader Yuribab Alemao in Europe on a short vacation, many might have thought the Congress MLAs and MP may skip the inaugural function. Sardinhbab, however, is believed to have insisted that the National Games is a national sports event. Party MLA Carlosbab Alvares too is believed to have attended the function. Any takers?

Tanavade’s presence in PM’s vehicle raises eyebrows

Even before the decorated vehicle carrying PM Narendrabai Modi with CM Pramodbab Sawant and Rajya Sabha MP Sadanandbab Tanavade reached the dais after a round of the Nehru stadium, questions did the rounds whether Tanavadebab made it on the vehicle with Modi as the Rajya Sabha MP or as the BJP chief. For, if Sadanandbab’s position as MP got him in the vehicle with Modi, the next question that comes to the fore was why did the Lok Sabha MPs, including Union Minister Shripadbab Naik not find place in the vehicle, or whether the Lok Sabha MPs were kept out since the South Goa seat is represented by Congress MP Francisbab Sardinha. Many a question indeed remains unanswered.

Gaude displeased with sound system at Games inaugural

Ask Sports Minister Govindbab Gaude on the sound system used at the Nehru stadium at the National Games inaugural ceremony. And do not be surprised if an agitated Sports minister joined thousands of spectators to complain about the poor sound system. In fact, Govindbab says he had raised questions over the sound system on the eve of the inaugural ceremony, and was assured that all would turn out well on the day of the event, but in vain. Indeed time for introspection.

Even as the Pernem Zoning plan is down and out, Saxttikars are trying to figure out whether any such plan is being proposed anywhere in the minority dominated taluka. Sources are on the job to find out whether any of the MLAs around Saxtti countryside have any plan up their sleeves to include the villages in the local area planning. In the past, attempts were made to include villages neighbouring the commercial capital under the SGPDA, only to be firmly opposed by villagers,…
