Congress leader Elvis Gomes has come clear to oppose the proposed private medical college in the South Goa district hospital. What, however, has raised many an eyebrow in Saxtti political circles is what made Elvisbab hold the media briefing on the Citizens for Democracy banner when he could have taken the party platform to air his views. This has only thrown up a question or two in political circles about whether Elvisbab did not address the media on the party banner, since he feared his views may run contrary to that of his party or simply whether the party norms mandate leaders to obtain permission to air views on issues of public interest. Interesting, isn’t it?
