Political observers may wonder how come talks of a grand opposition alliance suddenly did the rounds in political circles on the eve of the ensuing polls. Sources, however, say that the mahagattabandan proposal has not come by accident. Mooted by both existing and new opposition players, the proposal may put Congress leadership in the dock. Already, one can hear grass-root Congress workers opposing any move to concede the party space for the new players determined to set up base in Goa. Congress workers openly say the proposal has come from parties and players, that have little presence in the State. Any questions?
