Everyone connected in mad rush of creativity by the sea inGoa. Ad gurus, design experts and technology prodigies from all over the worldmet at the Kyoorius DesignYatra 2012 to bring creativity closer.
The theme for theevent was ‘The Divide’, providing a platform to examine the issues dividing thecreative output of the industry and discovering insights and makingresolutions, over the three days of the conference at Park Hyatt Goa, thatconcluded on September 1.
The first day of DesignYatra was designated as Digital Day,dedicated to exploring issues within the digital space, while anticipating andforecasting the future of digital. It brought together an impressive list ofspeakers like Aapo Bovellan, Director of Brand and Marketing, Nokia; MichaelGough, Vice President, Adobe Experience Design, Nick Roope, Executive CreativeDirector, Poke London, Robert Wong, Chief Creative Officer, Google CreativeLab, etc who are influencing the development of the digital world currently.Day two was a riot of laughter, fun and more learning with ArunachalamMuruganantham, CEO, Jayashree Industries and Bill Lunderman, Vice President,Global Design, Colgate- Palmolive. Arunachalam spoke about his approach towardsdesign and innovation, leading to making a change. This Indian socialentrepreneur has given women from low income groups in India dignity by makingit possible for them to afford to buy sanitary towels and provide them incomeat the same time. Bill Lunderman focused on the attributes that a creativeprofessional should pursue to connect with the consumers. Day three ofDesignYatra opened with just another phenomenal talent Mansukhbhai R.Prajapati, entrepreneur & innovator of clay creations followed by JosyPaul, Chairman BBDO who brought alive the relevance of on-ground activations toreach the masses and create a need for a product.
The event provided excellent learning opportunities andexposure to students and young professional with inspiring presentations fromkey note speakers and their experiences and success journeys. Alongside themain conference, simultaneous events like the design writing workshop, aninitiative by the British Council, proved to be an excellent learningopportunity for interested participants. Another side event, the critique, gavethe participants the opportunity to spend get their portfolio and thoughtsreviewed from the veterans of the industry. The event concluded with a party atTito’s featuring live DJ and dance party, serving cocktail dinner, hosted byKyoorius.
