A political bonhomie under scanner

The bonhomie between the Congress and the Goa Forward Party is under the scanner of political observers. Reason: After the Congress conceded the two seats of Fatorda and Mayem to the regional outfit, the Goa Forward heard nothing from the principal opposition party on the remaining two seats of Mandrem and San Andre. Sources said Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai is believed to have discussed the matter with top Congress leaders with a message not to belittle or take the regional party for granted ahead of the ensuing polls.

Is there any move in the Congress to rope in a prospective candidate for the Benaulim seat? Sounds interesting, isn’t it, when there’s no dearth of candidates willing to contest for the Benaulim seat. Questions are being asked in Benaulim circles whether there’s any need to rope in a prospective candidate when the Congress block has recommended the names of flamboyant Mickky Pacheco, Royla Fernandes, Gina Pereira, Trevor Fernandes or Edwin Barretto for the party ticket.
