Reason: The panchayat has come under the rule of an administrator after the Sarpanch and the Deputy Sarpanch were voted out of office. It’s now 18 days since the two posts had fallen vacant, but the government is in no mood to hold an early election, even though rules prescribe filling up the posts within 60 days.
