When NCP Chief Sharad Pawar visited the state last month, he was candid enough in saying the party is open for an alliance with like-minded political parties. If one goes by the Churchill-Nelly purported conversation in the audio that went viral, NCP local party leaders appear keen on fielding a couple of Congress-turned-BJP MLAs on the NCP banner. State Congress leaders, however, have a question or two to ask the NCP leadership -- whether there can ever be a Congress-NCP tie up if the NCP is hell-bent on fielding the Congress-turned-BJP MLAs. Indeed a time for introspection for the Congress-NCP leadership.
