PANAJI: In an exciting end to end match Ambelim-B defeated Orel 2-0 in the first match of the Assolna Parish Cup.
It was Orel that started on a positive note with Ashish trying his luck from distance and another spectacular save from Ivan the Ambelim-B goalkeeper. However, Ambelim-B proved to be the better team and scored through Steno Rebello and Clyde Pereira. Michael Silva was adjudged the Man of the match for his commanding performance.
In the second match, Pedda got the better of Banda 2-1. Samson Fernandes opened the scoring for Pedda in the seventh minute. Romeo Fernandes doubled the lead in the 17th minute for Pedda. Aaron DCosta pulled one back for Banda in the 27th minute. Banda tried valiantly in the remaining three minutes but could not equalize as the Pedda defence stood strong. Blasco was awarded the man of the match for his outstanding performance.
In the third match of the day Bairo Premeiro Bainaque faced Tarivaddo-B. Bairo Premeiro Bainaque dominated the match and won 5-1. It was an outstanding performance from the young star Nathan Lobo who scored all 5 goals for Bairo Premeiro Bainaque. Roydern Silva scored a consolation goal for Tarivaddo-B. Nathan Lobo was declared the Man of the match for his extraordinary performance.
In the first tie breaker, Orel got the better of Colleavaddo winning the match 4-2. Gauri, Greta, Jayashree and Doris scored for Orel. Amina and Sumitra score for Colleavaddo.
In the 2nd tie breaker match, Mulleavaddo Bainfoll and Bairo Premeiro Bainaque could not be separated even after sudden death. Namita and Narina scored 2 goals each for Bairo Premeiro Bainaque. Goal scorers for Mulleavaddo Bainfoll were Angele, Jenny, Franzie and Alfin.
