The department of physical education and sports of St Xavier's College Mapusa, St Joseph Vaz College Cortalim and Nirmala Institute of Education organised a basketball tournament for physical education professionals working in the colleges across Goa.
The tournament was held recently at St Xavier's College, Mapusa. North Goa College Directors of Physical Education won the championship, defeating Assistant Professors in Physical Education by a slender margin of one point.
"The idea behind organising this tournament was to bring all the physical education professionals on one platform so that they could meet each other and share ideas about the state of affairs related to physical education and sports while also enjoying the game of basketball. The entire tournament was played with a lot of enthusiasm and fervour," a press release stated.
Synora Rodrigues E Picardo, PE instructor at Nirmala Institute of Education, was awarded as the best female player and Agnel Dias, the outgoing director of physical education and sports of Fr Agnel College, was named as the best male player.
