Chandor Club beat Don Bosco Oratory of Fatorda 7-6 via sudden death to inscribe their name on the glittering trophy of the 41st Gold Silver Rolling Trophy inter-village football tournament organised by Navelim Sporting Club at Rosary Church ground on Saturday. The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time.
In the tiebreaker, Victorino Fernandes, Brivon Dias, Rizbon Fernandes, Valentinho Carvalho, Brivon Dias, Louie Noronha and Jerry Vaz netted for Chandor SC while Maxwell Furtado, Francis Andrade, Hanslum Furtado, Alfred Noronha and Cliff Barretto scored.
Individual prizes: Best defender of the final - Joaquim Carvalho of Chandor Club, Best half of final - Cliff Barretto of Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda.
Luuzinho Faleiro, Rajya Saba MP, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Antonio Pango, interim president of GFA, Edwin (Cipru) Cardozo, ZP member, Navelim, George Barretto, social worker, other dignitaries and club officials.
