The Goa Badminton Association (GBA) has officially certified 29 new State Badminton Umpires following a comprehensive Umpires Certification Clinic conducted under the guidance of National Umpires Anar Singbal and Aman Raut Desai, which included rigorous theoretical sessions and practical evaluations.
The newly certified umpires include: Aditi Chodankar, Aishwarya Gad, Antony Steni R, Ayaan Shaikh, B. Gayatri Reddy, Hariesh Rajput, Jotiba Sutar, Karthik Swami, Maxwell Savio D’Souza, Mitra Redkar, Moshe Devappa, Mrunal Chari, Nidhi Nair, Nilesh Naik, Parth Priolkar, Pundalik Bhoyar, Radhika Nair, Rashmi Lobo, Ruturaj Parale, Saba Shaikh, Safiya Sheikh, Savi Raut Dessai, Shefali Kavlekar, Shreyas Morudkar, Smruti Velingkar, Tabassum Shaikh, Tanmay Gaude, Wiglan Jacques, and Wilfred Fernandes.
Congratulating the officials during the certification function held at Indoor stadium, Campal on Saturday, GBA President Manoj Patil said, “Badminton is a sport that provides multiple pathways for enthusiasts. While a playing career is one option, the game also offers alternative opportunities to become technical officials, coaches, administrators and more. GBA is committed to providing these platforms to local enthusiasts as part of our larger vision of popularizing badminton across Goa and creating a strong mass base at every level.
