MARGAO: Parish Youth Nuvem advanced to the finals of the Curtorim Panchayat Cup 2025, organized by Maina Sports Club, after defeating Don Bosco Fatorda 5-4 in a thrilling tie-breaker at St. Alex Church Ground, Curtorim, on Tuesday.
In a tightly contested match, Nuvem had the first opportunity when Albino Pereira’s shot was brilliantly saved by the Fatorda goalkeeper. Fatorda also missed key chances, and the first half ended in a goalless stalemate. The second half saw both sides creating equal opportunities, but neither could break the deadlock.
The match was ultimately decided via a penalty shootout, where PY Nuvem triumphed 5-4. Nuvem’s successful spot-kicks came from Albino Pereira, Shenoy Colaco, Joywin Costa, Royston Mascarenhas, and Roiston Barreto, while Fatorda’s scorers were Rahul Sharma, Mario Miranda, Hanslum Furtado, and Alfred Noronha.
PY Nuvem will now face UB Ambaulim in the final on 9 November.
Albino Pereira of PY Nuvem was named Man of the Match, presented by actor and director Xavier de Maina of Tiatr & Khell.
