Arlem Youth Association held their nerve in a tense penalty shootout to defeat Navelim Villagers Union 6-4 via tiebreaker and secure a spot in the quarterfinals of the 14th Our Lady of Fatima Cup 2025, organised by Dicarpale Sports Club and played at the Dicarpale Ground.

Arlem took the lead early in the match, with Sanjiro Pango opening the scoring in the 12th minute, a goal that stood as the only difference between the two sides going into halftime.

In the second half, Shoilan Fernandes doubled Arlem’s lead in the 40th minute, putting them in a commanding position. However, Navelim Villagers Union launched a late comeback, with Ronaldo Pereira netting a dramatic brace in injury time — scoring in the 61st and 63rd minutes (60+1’, 60+3’) — to level the game 2-2 and force a shootout.

In the ensuing tiebreaker, Arlem Youth Association held their composure and emerged victorious, converting their spot-kicks to seal a 6-4 win.

Aloy Vaz of Arlem Youth Association was named Man of the Match, with the award presented by Simon Carvalho.
