In a significant development, Mumbai City FC is reportedly in advanced negotiations to secure the services of Brandon Fernandes on a free transfer as his contract with FC Goa is set to expire this summer.

This potential move marks Brandon's return to Mumbai City after nine years, having been initially selected in the 2015 ISL Drafts. The 29-year-old midfielder and the club are optimistic about a more successful collaboration this time. As per sources, Brandon Fernandes is most likely to pen down a 4-years deal with the Amchi city club - Mumbai City FC.

During Brandon's previous stint with Mumbai, he faced a series of injuries, limiting his appearances to just two matches. Subsequently, he joined Mohun Bagan on loan and later sealed a permanent transfer to Churchill Brothers. Currently in his seventh season with FC Goa, Brandon has amassed 121 appearances, contributing significantly with 29 assists and 14 goals since joining the club in 2017.

As a Goan native, Brandon holds the third position in all-time appearances for FC Goa and is on track to surpass Edu Bedia's record of 122 appearances this season, trailing closely behind Seriton Fernandes, who boasts 145 appearances.

Mumbai City FC, led by Peter Kratky, aims to enhance their attacking prowess with Brandon's potential signing, leveraging his versatility in both midfield and wing positions.

Under Manolo Marquez's management this season, Brandon has primarily operated on the left side, showcasing his value with two assists and three significant chances created in 11 starts. The move, if finalised, would undoubtedly reshape the dynamics of both FC Goa and Mumbai City FC in the upcoming season.
