Sixteen-year-old Gauravi Ravi Dessai won a bronze medal in the Youth 44kg category at the Asmita Khelo India Women’s Weightlifting West Zone League 2025, held in Kota, Rajasthan, on December 16.
Gauravi delivered an impressive performance, lifting 43kg in the snatch and 58kg in the clean and jerk, for a combined total of 101kg.
The achievement highlights the impact of the Khelo India initiative in nurturing young talent, with Gauravi’s success marking a promising step forward in her weightlifting journey.
