The Goa Table Tennis Association (GTTA) lauded the inspiring conduct of the 3rd State-Level Table Tennis Championship for Deaf and Mute Children, organised by Lok Vishwas Pratishthan, Dhawali, at the Siddharth Bandodkar Hall, Dhawali.
All schools for the deaf and mute in Goa participated, providing a rare and much-needed competitive platform for these talented youngsters to express themselves through sport. GTTA President Sudin Verekar, who was the Chief Guest at the inauguration, congratulated the organisers for their vision and assured the players of GTTA’ s full support to help them progress to higher levels of competition. As a mark of this commitment, the Goa Table Tennis Association presented a table tennis table to Lok Vishwas Pratishthan to further strengthen training facilities for these special athletes.
The championship was contested in multiple age groups — Under-14, Under-16, Under-18 and Above-18 — with boys and girls displaying remarkable skill, discipline and enthusiasm. Players from Lokvishwas Pratishthan, St. Xavier’s School, Old Goa Gujarati Samaj (Margao), Sanjay School Porvorim and Ashadeep School, Vasco figured prominently on the podium across categories. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Irwin Cardo, Assistant Director, Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, and promising table tennis player Yug Prabhu.
