Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sanquelim stormed into the finals of the 2nd Inter-College Football Tournament after a commanding 4-0 victory over MES College, Zuarinagar. The tournament is being hosted by CES College of Arts and Commerce, Cuncolim, and is taking place at the Government School playground in Ambelim.
The star of the match was Nakul Gawas, who netted a brilliant brace, scoring in the 7th and 40th minutes. Ramnath Parab added to the tally in the 45th minute, while Aftab Desai sealed the win with a goal in the 50th minute. Nakul was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
In the second semifinal, hosts CES College of Arts and Commerce, Cuncolim edged out Rosary College with a narrow 1-0 win. Saish Gaonkar scored the match-winning goal in the 7th minute and was also named Man of the Match.
The much-anticipated final will see Government College Sanquelim face off against CES College Cuncolim for the championship title.
