Laxmi Prasad Sports Club, Mapusa beat Chennai FC 2-1 to clinch the title of Bangalore Championship 2020 organised by The Setu and the team in Bengaluru recently.
Laxmi Prasad dominated the entire tournament and won the semi-final against Bengaluru Global Football Cup. In the final, Laxmi Prasad took a lead through Tarak Candolkar when he beat the rival goalkeeper to find the back of the net. Chennai FC scored the equaliser to make it 1-1. Laxmi Prasad goalkeeper Tejas Gawas had a good game, capping an excellent tournament in which he made some great saves throughout. In the second half, Laxmi Prasad scored the winner through Ashvek Jadhav, 2-1.
Chaviz Khan, Atmaram Chari, Sankalp Kankonkar and Aaryan Salunke were part of the Laxmi Prasad squad, which was coached by Nayan Vironadkar. Tarak Candolkar was awarded as the Best Player of the Tournament, while Tejas Gawas claimed the Best Goalkeeper award.
