Murida Fatorda Veterans prevailed over Calangute Veterans 4-3 via the tie-breaker to win the 5th All Goa Henry Araujo Memorial Veterans trophy, at Loutolim church ground ,on Sunday.
Both the teams started on an attacking note and the first goal was scored by Murida Fatorda through Charles Rodrigues in the 15th minute. Crossing over, Calangute Veterans showed urgency and equalised through scored through Benit D'souza in the 46th minute.
Full time score was 1-1.
In the tie-breaker, Murida Fatorda Veterans netted through Charles, Agnelo, Francisco and Claudo while Bruno Coutinho and Allwy scored were on target for Calangute Veterans.
Fr Ligorino D'Costa, parish priest of Saviour of the World Church, Loutolim was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Charles Dias, Sesa coach and Fr Reagen Fernandes, assistant parish priest and other dignitaries
The winners were awarded Rs 40,000 plus trophy while the runners-up had to be content with Rs 30,000 plus trophy.
