Ronaldo Pereira nets only goal in final against Cuncolim Union

Navelim Villagers Union lifted the United Club of Telaulim Trophy after edging past Cuncolim Union 1-0 in a thrilling final held at the Rosary Church Ground, Navelim, on Sunday. The tournament was organised by the United Club of Telaulim.
The decisive moment came in the 29th minute, when Ronaldo Pereira fired home a powerful snap-shot to give Navelim Villagers Union the lead. The forward capitalised on sustained pressure from his side after they had taken control of the midfield battle, sending the packed Sunday crowd into raptures.
Both teams showcased an attacking brand of football from the outset, thrilling spectators with end-to-end action. After conceding, Cuncolim Union pushed hard for an equaliser in the second half, but Navelim's backline—anchored by standout defender Noah Luis—stood firm. Despite creating a few clear chances, Cuncolim’s forwards were unable to find the finishing touch.
At the post-match presentation, former chief minister Churchill Alemao was the chief guest and handed over the prizes in the presence of dignitaries including Valanka Alemao, chairperson of the AIFF Women’s Football Committee; Fr Gabriel Coutinho, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Rosary Church, Navelim; Fr Valentine Alvares, Chaplain of Mount Carmel Chapel, Telaulim; Fr Dylon D’Costa, Assistant Parish Priest of OL Rosary Church; and other community leaders and football officials.
Navelim Villagers Union walked away with a cash prize of sixty thousand rupees and the winner’s trophy, while Cuncolim Union received forty thousand rupees along with the runners-up trophy.
