St Rock Youth Club, Majorda delivered a dominant performance to storm into the quarterfinals of the III Cavelossim Villagers UK Cup 2025, thrashing Benfica YC Vasco 7-0 at the Fr Druston and Wellington Ground in Cavelossim. The tournament is organised by the Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim.
Majorda wasted no time asserting their dominance, taking the lead in just the 5th minute when Ashley Rodrigues curled in a corner kick that beat Benfica goalkeeper Bryan Soares at the near post. Bevan soon made it 2-0 with a brilliant solo effort.
Ashley Rodrigues was the star of the match, completing a stunning hat-trick that included a calmly converted penalty after Vasco's goalkeeper was shown a straight red card for a reckless foul on Lany Vaz inside the box. Referee Rosario had no hesitation in pointing to the spot and issuing the dismissal.
Majorda continued to pile on the pressure with Oscar Rodrigues and Filbert Pereira each getting on the scoresheet to complete the rout.
Ashley Rodrigues was named Man of the Match, with the award presented by Ajay Rodrigues, a Cavelossim villager currently based in the UK, in the presence of club chairman and Cavelossim sarpanch Dixon Vaz.
Earlier, Savio Fernandes, another Cavelossim villager residing in the UK, ceremonially kicked off the tournament.
