PES College Pharmacy, Ponda defeated SRIEIT College, Shiroda by 6 wickets in the annual inter-collegiate cricket men’s championship at Goa University cricket ground, Taleigao, on Thursday.
PES College Pharmacy, Ponda won the toss and elected to bowl. SRIEIT College, Shiroda posted 111/10 in 20 overs. Pruthvi Chari 28(25) not out, Saket Ghadi 26(22) contributed with the bat. Shubham Dessai scalped 4 wickets and Nikhil Shinde picked up two wickets for the Ponda College
In reply PES College chased down the target in 12.5 overs. Sanat Shikerkar 31(24) was the top scorer of the innings while Saket Ghadi managed to pick up 2 wickets for the opposition.
In the second match, Rosary College, Navelim defeated MES College, Zuarinagar by 48 runs.
The toss was won by Rosary College who elected to bat first. They scored 135/7 in 20 overs.
Abhijeet Rathod 61(56) was the top run getter for the Navelim college who was supported Drushal Kolkar unbeaten 32(22). Soaib Ansari picked up 4 wickets while Sai Salgaonkar managed to get 2 wickets for MES College. In the second innings, MES College, Zuarinagar were bundled out for 87 runs in 16.4 overs.
Namesh Morajkar scored 38(45) while Yash Jogale 4/14, Ajay Raj 2/8, Abhijeet Rathod 1/20 managed to contain MES College's chase.
