Phadke elevated as BVCI secretary

At the Board of Veteran Cricket in India (BVCI) Annual General Body Meeting, held recently in the State, Vinod Phadke of Goa Veterans was appointed as the new secretary of the board.

The meeting, which saw the participation of six Apex Council members and 15 state officials, was marked by several key decisions and updates for the cricket calendar year 2024-25.

Phadke's appointment comes as part of a broader reshuffle in the Apex Council aimed at improving the governance of the BVCI. Sudhir Kulkarni from Maharashtra Veterans was also elevated to the role of Senior Vice President. Additionally, Chandrasenan Nair from Kerala Veterans was named Treasurer, while Mayank Khandewal from Mumbai Veterans was appointed Joint Secretary. Sudesh Prabhudesai of Goa Veterans was also added as a new Board member.

The meeting also highlighted plans for the upcoming Indian Veteran Premier League (IVPL) scheduled for February 2025 and announced that the National Veterans Championship will be held in Madhya Pradesh in January 2025. A four-nation Veteran tournament is also on the horizon, with a selection committee set to choose the Indian team for this event.
