SC Virabhat booked their place in the semi-finals of the 9-a-side Curtorim Inter-Ward Football Tournament 2026 with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over UC Ungirim at the St Alex Church Ground, Curtorim.
The match got off to a lively start with UC Ungirim taking the lead in the sixth minute through Asher Rebello, who found the back of the net to make it 1-0.
SC Virabhat responded positively and restored parity in the 15th minute when Vivon Fernandes scored to level the scores at 1-1, a result that remained unchanged at halftime.
After the break, Virabhat stepped up the pressure and took the lead in the 35th minute through Vivon Fernandes, who completed his brace to make it 2-1. Five minutes later, Josslan Fernandes extended the advantage with Virabhat's third goal of the match.
UC Ungirim refused to give up and reduced the deficit in the 45th minute through Floyd Antao, setting up a tense finish. However, SC Virabhat held firm to secure a 3-2 win and advance to the last four.
Despite ending on the losing side, Floyd Antao of UC Ungirim was adjudged Man of the Match. The award was presented by Crisco Castanha, a member of Sporting Club Virabhat.
