MARGAO: St Anthony Colva edged past United Club of Benaulim 5–4 in a penalty shootout after a 1–1 draw in the All Goa Inter-Village Football Tournament, organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim in memory of Late Rev. Fr. Joe Gomes, at the Seraulim Panchayat Ground.
United Club of Benaulim took the lead in the 17th minute through Meverick Correia. St. Anthony Colva restored parity four minutes later when Vicky Cardozo found the net in the 21st minute.
With no further goals in regulation time, the match was decided on penalties, where St. Anthony Colva held their nerve. Samson Gomes, Kabir Khan, Joseph Pereira and Adel Fernandes converted their spot-kicks, while Benaulim managed successful attempts from Luis Menin, Samul Fernandes and Clifford Fernandes.
