16 teams to battle for glory in Mansion House Cup 2025 in Cuncolim

A total of 16 teams will compete for top honours in the 'Mansion House Cup 2025', an All-Goa inter-village football tournament organised by Cuncolim Union, to be played at the Government School Playground, Cuncolim.

Sixteen GFA-affiliated teams are in the fray for the prestigious title, with attractive cash prizes and glittering trophies awaiting the winners and runners-up. The tournament kicks off on August 18 with the inaugural clash between Sao Jose de Areal SC and CRC Chinchinim, while the grand finale is slated for September 7.

Five Compassion FC players picked for AIFF-FIFA Talent Academy trials

MARGAO: Five players from Compassion FC, have been selected to attend the AIFF-FIFA Talent Academy trials to be held in Hyderabad, Telangana, from August 23 to 25. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has invited the players to participate in the trials, which are part of the Vision 2047 initiative aimed at identifying and developing future stars of Indian women’s football. The selected players are Tyreana Miquela Muniz, Sienna Megan Fernandes, Siya Sandesh Naik, Lillian Nicole Rodrigues and Shanaica Gonsalves.

RMS HSS excel at karate tournament

MARGAO: Vidya Vikas Mandal’s Ramacrisna Madeva Salgaocar Higher Secondary School, Margao, put up an impressive performance at the Zone 3 Inter-Higher Secondary School Karate Tournament for U-19 boys and girls, organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at the SAG indoor multipurpose hall, Fatorda. In the competition, Ashmit Rajesh Pawaskar and Sidney Kennett Vaz both secured gold medals, while Sarwa Shatrughan Gawade won a bronze medal.
