3 Goans in Indian Biathle team to Georgia

PANAJI

The Indian National Pentathlon team leaves for Georgia on September 17 from Mumbai for the forthcoming UIPM World Biathle-Triathle Championship to be held in Batumi, Georgia.

The world championship is scheduled from Sept 18-20. The Indian team has three athletes from Goa- Ananya Mukherjee (Our Lady Of The Rosary School, Dona Paula) Youth C Female, Taran Mukherjee (Dempo Higher Secondary School of Science - PACE, Miramar) Youth B Male, and Clarissa De Souza (Goa Medical College, Bambolim) Youth A Female.

All the athletes train under SAG swimming coach Deepak Chetry. The Goan athletes were selected by the Modern Pentathlon Federation of India to be part of the Indian team at the world meet after they qualified at the 6th National Championship held in Pune, in July, 2015.
