In an evenly contested the match, it was Carmel SC which had a golden chance to go in front in the 6th minute when Daclon Fernandes picked up the ball from Vivek Naik and the former dribbled past a rival defender and relayed it to Aesley Baretto who unleashed a shot that kissed the cross bar.
Carmel were unlucky again in the 10th minute when Daclon's goal-bound shot was saved on the goalline by rival defender. Navelim Sporting broke the deadlock in the 13th minute when captain Clinton Dias punished the rival goalkeeper with off Renson Dias. Crossing over, Carmel came back strongly after trailing by a goal as Dalwin Costa neutralized the lead in the 62nd minute. Laxman Thapa struck the match winner to gives his team three full points.
At DYSA grounds, Curtorim, Uguem's Rising Club played out a 2-2 draw with Maina Sports Club. At Panchayat Grounds, Raia, Raitura Sports Club edged past St Sebastian Youth Club, Fatorda 1-0. Samson Fernandes netted the match-winner for Raitura in the 61st minute. At Duler, Guirim Youth CSC and Saligao United played out a thrilling 3-3 draw. Guirim Youth led in the first half by 2-1 however a sudden turn of events in the second half saw them trailing by a goal as Alister scored two quick goals for the Saligao side but Guirim came back from behind to net the equaliser in the dying minutes through Naschio Baretto. Olvino Pinto, Jameo Fernandes and Naschio displayed brilliant football for Guirim Youth and constantly attacked the rivals in the hope of finding the ball at the back of the nets and were successful enough in the 16th minute as Olvino netted the first goal to give his side the desired lead.
The match between Vailankanni FSC and FC Siolim was not played as Vailankanni FSC, Morjim has been debarred from further participation in the Third Division League after they failed to register the players for the league.
All the matches involving Vailankanni FSC will be declared null and void and the remaining matches scheduled to be played with the said club will stand cancelled.
