GFDC Arambol and GFDC Sanquelim qualified for the semi-finals of Vodafone GFDC Rising Stars Football Festival in the Boys Under 10 category. GFDC Arambol beat GFDC Aldona 2-0 with Sanford Fernandes scoring in the 5th minute and Christian D’Mello scoring a goal in the 10th minute. Sanford was declared player of the match.
In the second quarter-finals in U 10 Boys, GFDC Sanquelim beat GFDC Sorocco 3-0. Ramnath Parab the player of the match scored a hat-trick for the winners in the 17th, 33rd and 37th minute.
In the U-13 Boys category, GFDC Aldona defeated GFDC Siolim 2-0 with Bhuvan Parwar and Aryan Parwar scoring a goal each in the 37th minute and 46th minute respectively.Aryan Pawar was declared player of the match. In the second quarter- finals in U-13 Boys category, GFDC Socorro beat GFDC Mayem 2-0. Player of the match Aditya Salgaonkar scored twice for the winners.
GFDC Dona Paula and GFDC Moira emerged victorious in the U-13 girls category. GFDC Donala Paula beat GFDC Sanquelim 1-0 via penalty shoot out with the winning goal being scored by Milvia Gonsalves who was also declared player of the match.
In the second match played between GFDC Moira and GFDC Pernem, Gena Gomes scored the winning goal for GFDC Moira. Sanjana Maulinkar was declared player of the match.
