CAC Cansaulim shunted out Chandor Club 3-1 via tie-breaker to enter the last eight stage of the 35th Custodio memorial inter village football tournament organized by Raia Sporting Club at Raia
Panchayat ground on Sunday. There was no score at full time.
Both the teams started the game on a cautious note but as the match progressed, CAC Cansualim showed urgency in their application and approach and made a couple of sorties against the rival goal but the opposition defenders stood tall in protecting their citadel. At the other end, Chandor Club did not lag behind as they created many openings but the rival defence was stubborn at the back.
After the break, both the teams went all out and had equal number of scoring chances but failed to penetrate either defence. In the penalty shootout, Domnic Soares, Veegan Ferrao and Richard Rodrigues scored for CAC Cansaulim while only Succoro Fernandes found the mark for Chandor SC.
