Come & Play Football Coaching Centre and Mummy's Goa Helping Hands organised an all-India Academic Football Championship for boys in U-19 and U-17 categories at Athletic Stadium, Bambolim.
U-19 CAPFCC Goa were crowned champions after they scored a 2-0 win over CAPFCC Goya. In the U-17 category, FGC Kerala beat CAPFCC Goa 1-0 to be crowned champions.
Jharkhand FC and FCSA Tamil Nadu were U-19 losing semifinalists, while SA Pune and CAPFCC Goya lost in the U-17 semifinals. Saligao MLA and vice-chairman of GSIDC, Kedar Naik was the chief guest.
For this event, 189 players participated with teams from Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Kerala, Pune, Mumbai, and the hosts Goa. CAPFCC national head coach Tushar Bhagat handled the technicality of the event.
