Chinchinim Veterans defeated Carmona Veterans 6-5 via the tiebreaker and moved into the semifinals of the 1st Rehan Muzawar Cup, organised by Sporting Club de Rumdamol at Rumdamol football ground on Monday.
Martin Dias, goalkeeper of Chinchinim Veterans was the star of the match with a couple of saves throughout the match.
Charles of Carmona Veterans opened the scoreline in the 20th minute but it didn’t take long for Chinchinim Veterans to equalise within six minutes through Inacio Cardozo.
Than Robert Fernandes of Carmona Veterans missed chances to score in the 35th and 59th minutes respectively.
Carmona Veterans dominated the second half but could not find the winner as Martin Dias goalkeeper of Chinchinim Veterans was at his best.
In the tiebreaker, Chinchinim Veterans netted through Jerry Fernandes, Inacio Cardozo, Adrian Lobo, Presley Pereira and Mathew Pereira and Marcus Carvalho, Rafiq Bepari, Raju Cardozo and Charles scored for Carmona Veterans.
Martin Dias, goalkeeper of Chinchinim Veterans was the adjudged the man of the match.
