Goa were dismissed for 164 in their first innings on the opening day of the Cooch Behar Trophy Elite quarterfinal against Madhya Pradesh at the GCA ground, Sanguem, on Thursday.
After winning the toss and opting to field, Madhya Pradesh bowlers applied sustained pressure in the four-day Under-19 contest. Goa were bowled out in 82.5 overs, with the batting lineup struggling to build partnerships.
The main resistance came through a fifth-wicket stand of 76 runs between Dishank Misquin, who scored 44, and Aradhya Goyal, who top-scored with 50. Goyal struck five boundaries during his knock, while opener Sarthak Bhike contributed 31 at the top of the order.
For Madhya Pradesh, Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 3 for 34.
At stumps on day one, Madhya Pradesh were 12 for 1 in four overs, holding a slight advantage with the match evenly balanced.
