Curtorim Gymkhana beat Sporting Club Davorlim 9-8 via the tiebreaker to enter the finals of the Chandor Seamen inter-village football tournament at Chandor football ground on Saturday.
The teams were tied 2-2 in regulation time. Mackson Fernandes and Nalister Silveira netted a goal each for Curtorim Gymkhana while Reeve D’Costa scored a brace for SC Davorlim.
In the tiebreaker, Piedade Colaco, Adarsh Raj, Aaren Figuiredo, Prince Figuiredo, Sanju Trikonni, Joy Paxton Gomes and Milton Colaco netted for Curtorim Gymkhana while Aaron Dias, Savio Peixoto, Marcus Fernandes, Rhay Dias, Milagres Fernandes and Myson Fernandes were the scorers for SC Davorlim.
Athletics association trials on Sept 12
The Goa Athletic Association will participate in the West Zone Athletic Championship at Kota/ Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan from October 17 to 19. The selection trials to pick U-14, U-16, U-18, U-20 teams in boys and girls section will be held on Tuesday, September 12 at PJN Stadium, Fatorda. The athletes should report for the trials at 3 pm to sr joint secretary Sonali Shetyekar (7030884036) with a photo copy of their Aadhaar card and birth certificate, and 2 passport-size photos.
PANAJI: Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Margao won the runners-up prize at the inter-collegiate men’s tennikoit championship organised by Goa University. Sandesh Gaonkar of the college won the Best Player of the Tournament. Netball women's team selection trials
The Goa Netball Association will conduct senior selection trials for the Goa women's team which will participate in the 41st Senior National Netball Championship to be held at Sonipat, Haryana from September 21 to 24. The selection trials will be held on September 11 at Ponda Sports Complex Indoor Stadium, Curti, Ponda at 4 pm. Interested players are required to report to Pratish Naik (9158386802), Sameer Raikar (9923799566) or Sandeep Shetkar (9822125734) at the venue with their playing kit.
