Daivadnya carrom tournament draws over 100 participants in Ponda

The 5th edition of the Daivadnya Carrom Tournament 2025 was held successfully on Sunday at Daivadnya Hall in Ponda, attracting over 100 players across various age groups. The tournament was organized by the Akhil Gomantakiya Daivadnya Brahmin Youth Association (AGDBYA) in collaboration with the Ponda Daivadnya Brahmin Samaj and supported by the Goa Carrom Association.

The event was inaugurated by AGDBYA President Seema Rohit Vernekar and Ponda Daivadnya Samaj President Deepak Lotlikar, who welcomed participants and dignitaries. Kishor Pandurang Lotlikar, former Assistant Director of Transport (RTO Goa), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Highlighting the cultural aspect of the event, Tanishka Prashant Vernekar was felicitated for her achievements in Lagori, having represented Goa at the national level.

The tournament reflected a strong sense of community participation and growing interest in traditional indoor sports like carrom. The matches saw high levels of competitiveness and sportsmanship.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sahil Devdatt Lotlikar, Secretary of AGDBYA, who acknowledged the efforts of participants, volunteers, and supporters. He assured that the tournament would return next year with even greater enthusiasm and wider participation.
