Don Bosco Oratory Panjim and Loyola Ignitors Margao emerged as the standout teams, securing their places in the Boys finals of the Goa State Sub Junior Basketball Championships 2025.
In the boys’ section, DBO Panjim outclassed Loyola Ignatians Margao 33-14, with Jacob top scoring at 14 points, while Vinroy fought hard for the Ignatians. Loyola Ignitors Margao then cruised to a comfortable 29-10 win over Lourdes Basketball Club, thanks to Nash’s 15-point haul.
In the girls’ semifinal thriller, DBO Panjim edged past Sonics Porvorim 12-10, with Shulka contributing 9 points, while Samaira was the standout for the Sonics. The final game of the day saw Don Bosco Sports Academy Fatorda putting up a spirited fight against DBO Panjim, narrowly losing 22-18 despite Kurth’s impressive 12 points.
The Goa State Sub Junior Basketball Championships 2025, organized by Don Bosco Sports Academy Fatorda in association with the Goa Basketball Association and the Sports Authority of Goa, and held at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim is the official selection ground for forming Goa’s state teams that will participate in the 50th Sub Junior National Basketball Championship to be held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, from October 4 to 10, 2025.
