DBO win Youth of Manora finals

Navelim Villagers Union go down 2-0

Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda blanked Navelim Villagers Union 2-0 to win the All Goa Youth of Manora football finals at Manora grounds on Sunday. Both teams were locked goalless at the breather.

The teams started off on an aggressive note but muffed gilt-edged chances.DBO after getting a pep talk from coach at the lemon break put in a decent display on resumption. Edgar Noronha picked up the ball from his teammate and fired past the rival goalkeeper. DBO put the issue beyond doubt when he punished the rival goalkeeper with a neat finish. Down 0-2, Navelim Villagers Union continued to press hard for goals but they were denied by rival defenders who were rock solid at the back.

DBO were richer by Rs 30,000 and trophy while Navelim Villagers Union had to settle for Rs 20,000 and trophy. Curtorim MLA, Alex Reginald Lourenco was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Schubert Furtado, GFA VIce president for South Goa.

Best defender - Danny Dias (DBO)

Best half - Sandy Colaco (Navelim Villagers Union)

Best player of finals - Cliff Barretto (DBO)
