Dicarpale SC hit five past AA de Majorda to enter SF

MARGAO
Dicarpale Sports Club came from behind to defeat hosts Associação Académica de Majorda Utorda Calata 5-1 and book their place in the semifinals of the 25th Fr Basilio Andrade Memorial Football Tournament.
Majorda took the lead after the break when Ashley beat an advancing defender before unleashing a shot from outside the penalty area into the bottom corner. Dicarpale drew level through Mallikjan Kalegar, who headed home Adarsh’s corner after being left unmarked.
Ajay Raj then put Dicarpale ahead, calmly placing the ball into the bottom-right corner after finding space in the penalty area. He combined with Adarsh soon after to score from close range and extend the lead.
Majorda’s struggles continued when Milton Colaco capitalised on a defensive error, went past goalkeeper Freddy and slotted into an empty net to make it 4-1.
Ajay completed his hat-trick with a volley after reacting quickest to the second ball following a cleared corner, sealing a comprehensive victory.
Majorda had created opportunities before and after taking the lead but were unable to convert them, while Dicarpale made their chances count.
Ajay was adjudged Man of the Match and received the award from Lucio Gomes, editor of True Goa News.
