Goa’s Dr Ankush Patil clinched two silver medals in the Men’s Singles and Men’s Singles 35+ categories, while Dr Felix Dias secured silver in the Men’s Singles 60+ as the finals of the All India Doctors Badminton Tournament concluded at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim.
In Men’s Singles final, Dr Abhiram emerged champion, with Dr Ankush Patil finishing runner-up. Dr Ketan Sinha won the MS 35+ title, again ahead of Patil, while in the MS 60+ final, Dr Dyaneshwar Shinde defeated Dr Felix Dias. The MS 50+ crown went to Dr Budi Prakash Murty, with Dr Sudesh Tiwari as runner-up.
In other results, Dr Resham Payak won the Women’s Singles title defeating Dr Rusva Mistry, while Dr Neha Sharma and Dr Sezal Singh claimed the Women’s Doubles crown over Dr Sanjotha and Dr Vinutha. The Mixed Doubles title was bagged by Dr Abhiram and Dr Sanjotha, who got the better of Dr Abhishek Verma and Dr Neha Sharma.
In Men’s Doubles, Dr Anirudh and Dr Ibrahim defeated Dr Vikyath Narayan and Dr Vikas, while in MD 35+ section, Abhishek Chauhan and Abhishek Verma triumphed over Dr Dhaval Fadadu and Dr Rohan. The MD 60+ title went to Dr Ramanuj Marda and Dr D. Shinde, who beat Dr Danish and Dr Hemanth Sathe. The National level tournament was organised by Mighty Sports with support from the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs.
