Salgaocar had a decent chance to go upfront through Devendra Murgaokar after he had a shot but it went wayward. He should have done better with his effort since the FC Bardez keeper Aliston Fernandes was very much off his line. Salgaocar's Gilbert Oliveira then tried a shot after receiving a lovely ball from the right flank from team-mate Samuel Costa. Gilbert tried to curl the ball in but it went straight to the
Bardez keeper.
Salgaocar had many attempts at goal as they dominated the first half but lacked in their finishing. Salgaocar finally got their goal in the 40th minute by Yinka Joel Ayeni, who headed the ball after getting a headed pass from skipper Rosario Mendes, from a corner taken by Brian Mascarenhas. Moments later Yinka tried to score a left footed curler, which missed the post by whiskers.
Post resumption, FC Bardez looked dangerous as they searched for the equaliser. Clinton Niasso equalised for Bardez in the 55th minute after he received a ball from Danstan Fernandes. He curled the ball with his left foot and the Salgaocar keeper had no chance to save the shot.
In the 68th minute, Clinton tapped in a rebound for the winner after Jessel Carneiro's shot hit the crossbar. Moments later, Jessel missed an easy chance to get his name on the scoresheet as Salgaocar keeper Nora Fernandes was very much on the edge of the D area but the latter had a shot which went over
the crossbar.
