MARGAO: Fr Agnel YSC Paroda secured a spot in the semifinals of the Areal Panchayat intervillage football tournament after defeating Guardian Angel SC 5-2 in a tiebreaker at Padribhat football ground, on Saturday.
Clifton Fernandes put Paroda in the lead, but Guardian Angel SC equalised through Cyril Dias before the end of regulation time. In the tie-breaker, Kanchan Kiro, Salvin Fernandes, Melson Fernandes, and Rohan Gaonkar successfully converted their penalties for Fr. Agnel YSC, while only Godwin D'Costa found the net for Guardian Angel SC.
Kanchan Kiro was awarded the Man of the Match by journalist Lucio Gomes for his outstanding performance.
