Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club came from behind to beat Gloria Sports Club 3-1 to advance into the semifinals of the 14th All Goa Guirdolim Panchayat Cup 2017, organised by Guirdolim Club at Chandor Church ground.
Gloria Sports Club started the game in an attacking fashion and took the lead in the 5th minute thanks to a lapse by the rival goalkeeper. Fr Agnel regrouped quickly and netted an equalizer in the 14th minute through Raston Costa as both the teams went into the break with some strategic planning to do.
Post resumption, Mahesh Oliveira gave Fr Agnel Youth SC the lead when he headed a high ball into the net. The lead boosted the morale of the Fr Agnel team as they dominated the game from there on. Jaiso Dias scored the last goal of the same with a solo effort to give Paroda a comfortable 3-1 victory. Fr.Agnelo Youth Sports Club will now face Tilamola United SC in the semifinals on November 5.
