Friends XI Dabholvaddo, Chapora beat Anjuna Police on penalties to win the Anjuna-Kaisuva and Assagao Village Inter ward football tournament organised by the Anjuna-Kaisuva Youth Social Sports and Cultural Club at the Village Panchayat grounds ,Anjuna. The full time score was 1- 1.
Both the teams dished out an attacking game and finally settled for a 1-1 draw. Friends XI were lucky to prevail over Anjuna Police on penalties. Minister for Water Resources and Panchayats, Dayanand Mandrekar was the chief guest of the finals and gave away the trophies and cash prizes to winners in the presence of Jayesh Salgaonkar, Franky Viegas and others.
The following individual prizes were given away:- First goal of finals -Omkar Phadte, Best goalkeeper of finals- Pinkesh Dabholkar, goalkeeper of tournament- Shankar Gunja, defender- Amir Salgaonkar, forward- Ravi Morajkar, rising star- Simon, player of tournament- Paresh Naik and disciplined team ,Peddem Bomm, Anjuna.
The club president, Sandesh Khorjuvenkar welcomed the gathering while Raju Shirodker proposed the vote of thanks.
