Goa in Group II for quarter-finals

It's official, hosts Goa have been drawn in Group II for the Junior National under 18 girls football championship which will be played at Rosary Grounds, Navelim and Panchayat Grounds, Raia on Monday.

Goa have been pooled alonside Orissa, Delhi and Mizoram, while Group I consists of Manipur, Maharashtra, Jharkand and Bihar.

The semi-final will be played on October 19 at Rosary Ground,Navelim and Panchayat Ground,Raia. The final is slated for October 21 at Rosary Grounds,Navelim.The quarter-final stage will get tougher and more competiive.

The eight qualifying teams after the first round of the championship have some of the best players in the country. As many as 43 girls belonging to eight teams left in the fray in the championships have represented India in their age group, and have earned the tag of being internationals.

All matches of the quarter-final league kick off at 7.30 am at both the venues simultaneously. The tournament has seen participation of 24 teams.

GROUP I: Manipur, Maharashtra, Jharkand, Bihar

GROUP II: Goa,Orissa, Delhi, Mizoram
