Goa Pro League: Sporting Clube hit three past Guardian Angel

In the 10th minute Sporting Clube de Goa had a shot on goal when Lloyd Cardozo, set up Dattaraj outside the box and the last named fired a low shot which narrowly missed the side post. 

At the other end, Guardian Angel SC were handed a chance to score in the 15th minute when they were awarded a freekick just outside the box after Joel Colaco committed a foul. Frank Adusie stepped up for the kick and nearly scored but it was divingly saved by keeper Ozen Silva. 

The first quarter saw the play being hampered by a lot of stoppages after the play got a bit physical by both the teams. Comparatively, Guardian Angel SC put up a better performance as compared to their previous few games. 

Sporting Clube de Goa finally took the lead just before the breather through Lloyd Cardozo giving his side the much deserved advantage. The youngster stepped up in the absence of Marcus Mascarenhas and Stendly Fernandes for Sporting Clube. 

In the second half, Sporting started brightly and minutes into the game Joyson Gauncar made a fine run on the right flank and sent in a cut back pass to Rohan Rodrigues, whose shot at goal was blocked by the Guardian Angel defence. 

In the 52nd minute, the first goal scorer Lloyd Cardozo, after getting a pass inside the box, danced his way past couple of rival defenders and sent in a cutback pass to Joyson Gauncar, who had to just push the ball at the back of the net past the helpless Guardian Angel keeper Oswin Rodrigues to make it 2-0. 

In the 65th minute Nickson Castanha’s brilliant freekick rattled the crossbar. But the goal came in the same minute when the rebound came back in the play and the following move from Llyod Cardozo, found an unmarked Joyson who scored his second with a similar tap in to his first goal to make it 3-0 for Sporting Clube de Goa.
