Goa lost their grip on the four-day match against KSCA President's XI after the hosts recovered from 210 for seven to post 396 in the first innings and take a 58-run lead on the third day of the Dr (Capt.) K Thimmappiah Memorial Cricket Tournament at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Goa, who were bowled out for 332 in their first innings, were 167 for eight in 33 overs at stumps, leaving them with an overall lead of just 109 runs and two wickets in hand.
Resuming on 11 not out, overnight batter Venkatesh M scored 49 as KSCA President's XI moved to 295 for nine. Shikhar Shetty then combined with Mohsin Khan to add 101 for the final wicket and put the hosts in a commanding position. Shetty made 92, while Mohsin remained unbeaten on 51.
Lalit Yadav was Goa's most successful bowler with three wickets for 77 runs. Amulya Pandrekar and Ruthvik Naik claimed two wickets each, while Vasuki Koushik, Vijesh Prabhudessai and Darshan Misal took one apiece.
Goa's second innings was given a major boost by opener Suyash Prabhudesai, who struck a 74-ball century featuring 14 fours and four sixes. However, his dismissal triggered a collapse as Goa slipped to 167 for eight.
Shivendra Bhujbal made 16, Snehal Kauthankar 15 and Darshan Misal 13, while Ruthvik Naik and Vasuki Koushik were unbeaten on six and one respectively at stumps.
Manvanth Kumar claimed three wickets for 22 runs, while Mohsin Khan and Shubhang Hegde took two each. Akshath Prabhakar took one wicket.
