Goa started Day 2 brightly picking the remaining eight wickets of Kerala for just 52 runs to dismiss them early in the first session at 342, but in reply were tottering at 169/6 in their Ranji Trophy Group C match at Brabourne Stadium on Monday.

Starting the day at 290/2, Kerala lost their overnight batsmen, centurion captain Rohan Prem (130) and Sanju Samson (35) shortly, both to pacer Rituraj Singh. Save for Iqbal Abdulla (20), none of the other incoming batsmen could withstand the pace of wrecker-in-chief Rituraj who returned with remarkable figures of 7/42 off 27 overs with able support provided by Saurabh Bandekar who had good returns of 2/77 from 23.4 overs.

In reply, Goa were struggling at 169/6, still 173 runs in arrears with four sticks in hand in their first essay. At draw of stumps, all-rounders Saurabh Bandekar and Shadab Jakati were at the crease batting on 22 (50b, 1x4) and 19 (42b, 4x4) respectively. For Kerala V Vinod Kumar emerged as the main wicket-taker snaring three wickets, while S Sandeep Warrier and Fabid Ahmed picked a wicket apiece.
