In the Women's Under-15 One-Day Trophy Elite tournament, the Goa team suffered a 10-wicket defeat at the hands of Hyderabad on Sunday. After winning the toss, Goa opted to bat first but were bundled out for 88 runs in 30.4 overs. Hyderabad chased down the target with ease, scoring 93 runs without loss in just 16.5 overs.
This was Goa's second successive defeat in the tournament. Notably, for the second match in a row, Goa's bowlers failed to take a single wicket.
The match was played at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. For Goa, Norah DSouza top-scored with 16 runs, while Joya Meer contributed 14 and Shreeshtika Shivarkar added 13. For Hyderabad, Ananya Dandu and Shaik Aisha were the pick of the bowlers, claiming four wickets each.
In reply, P. Shanvi (37 not out) and Bhavishya Reddy (55 not out) stitched together an unbeaten 93-run partnership to guide Hyderabad to a comprehensive victory. Goa will play their next match against Jharkhand on the January 6.
