Goa to host nat badminton tournament

Goa Badminton Association in collaboration with Margao Shuttlers Club and the Sports Authority of Goa will host an All India Sub-Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament for the first time in the State from October 9 to 15.

The championship will be held in singles and doubles categories for boys and girls in Under-13 and Under-15 age groups. The total number of entries for singles and doubles for this championship is around 2,000 which has surpassed all previous figures, showcasing the growing popularity of badminton in India. In all, about 1,200 players from various parts of the country have registered to participate in the event.
The qualifying matches will be held from October 9 to 11 at 17 Courts at various venues, namely Multupurpose Hall Fatorda, Quepem and Chicalim Sports stadiums, BITS Pilani Institute and Deepvihar Higher Secondary School. All main draw matches will be held at Multipurpose Hall, Fatorda, Margao and will commence from October 12.
